This is the trailer for L’amant/The Lover. I really recommend it.
It’s known as being quite steamy, which it definitely is, but there is much more to this film that the trailer suggests.
Amidst the love making, there is a really poignant story line. Also interesting comments on colonial times in Vietnam.
My French is a bit rusty, but this film has really made me want to read Marguerite Duras’ original work. So, I am going to buy L’amant, dig out my French dictionary and let you know.
